Dear Anton is an ongoing monthly publication by Anton located in the Fake News section of The 'Shroom.
It is a unique Ask- section for The 'Shroom, preceded by Ask Paper Yoshi, that answers general questions sent in by community members, but also serves as an advice column giving lengthier responses. The answers to each question will vary on absurdity but offer actual true advice somewhere in the mix, with an occasional fake question implied to be asked by a character from the Marioverse. Each issue also includes a drawing based on one of the questions that month.
Dear Anton is written from the perspective of Anton's user character, taking inspiration from reality, the Marioverse, and exaggerated personas. The character is a quack doctor and skilled hypnotist with dozens of bogus qualifications, is generally absent-minded, aloof, and oblivious to the reality of the situation, and appears to be in the pocket of various organizations and businesses.
With Dear Anton, as well as his other section Fightin' Footwear, Anton won 1st place for Favorite New Writer (S6, 2015), 1st for Best Use of Images (S7, 2015), and was part of the 1st place Fake News team for Favorite Team (S2, 2015).
